and as i stand back and self reflect
into black lungs and a tired soul
that feeling
of a stomache in turmoil
known so well

feels awkwardly foreign

i seem to have a knack
if it was only in heavy demand
to come upon
people who enjoy william daniel
enjoy the attention i give
not reciprocate
enjoy all that i bring to my pot luck of life
leaving me with dirty dishes and pots and pans and cups and saucers
it really is amazing
that i let myself be stepped on
